A Message from our Headteacher
I am immensely proud to be Acting Headteacher at Wood Bank School and it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our school.
Thank you for visiting our website which I hope provides insight into the essence of our school and its community.
Wood Bank is a generic special school in the Local Authority of Calderdale with 80 pupils from the age range of 4-11. Our children have an extensive range of special educational needs including severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties, complex needs, and autism. We enjoy being part of a vibrant and active community which results in creating many wonderful opportunities for our children.
We run a happy, nurturing learning environment where each child is at the heart of our educational approach. Our school motto is “From strong roots we grow and blossom.” Following this ethos, we offer a personalised curriculum which is delivered through one of our three pathways named, Roots, Trunk and Branching. Our curriculum is rich and diverse and is delivered by a fabulous team of highly skilled and enthusiastic staff.
Please contact us if you require more information, visits are strongly encouraged.
